I'm not sure why, but I find Mr. Tayto such an intriguing character. Is he a full-on potato, skin and all, or is he peeled? Does the hat ever come off? What happens if he sits too long in the sun? Does he become a baked potato? Does Mr. Tayto have a family, or is he one of a kind, perhaps from a different planet?

Joe 'Spud' Murphy, the founder of Tayto crisps, was born in 1923 and grew up near The Liberties in Dublin. I drew inspiration for the design of this little home from that part of town.

All in all, it's just a little wholesome idea I had in the back of my mind. He's off to work! Whatever he gets done during the day, he's buzzing to get those steps in. He’s a cutie patootie potato-ie.
