I've had this image in my mind for a long time. It's based on a sighting I had during a nice stroll. These two magpies sharing the same telephone wire. To put things into perspective, this was during the pandemic restrictions of 2021… I know.. Ha! They were just sitting there... quietly.

Did you know that in Irish and British folklore that to see a single magpie is bad luck? So, to avoid such an experience, one is advised to either bow or raise their hat. If you're too embarrassed to do that, you might hope that a partner magpie comes along quickly. Then you're fine.
